Language so very easily gets degraded and corrupted don’t you think? Degraded and corrupted. Degraded and corrupted. Language so very easily gets degraded and corrupted beyond the point at which it might be dignified by the term ‘communication’. That’s what I think anyway. Am I wrong? You know I’m not wrong…

Communication has become an infinitely expandable commodity. The miracle of modern day banality. Like expanded polystyrene – very little outlay needed for an impressively huge return. Very little input needed for maximum output. It’s like inflationary bank-notes – you can keep on printing off more and more of them. It costs nothing to print the bastard things. It similarly costs nothing to flood the market with infinitely degraded language. Why not, after all? Why wouldn’t we?

Words so very easily get degraded and corrupted. Words so easily become worthless. Don’t they? Don’t they? Don’t they just. Don’t they ever. They are at once so precious and so degraded. Words can mean so much and at the same time so little. So very little. So very little indeed. We meet so many words during the course of the day, don’t we? We are inundated with them. So many worthless words flung at us from every direction. Everyone we meet is brimming over with useless words which they want to share with us.

Just press ‘share’. Please share. Do go on and share. Why not share your useless words with everyone you meet, with everyone you know. Why not? Why wouldn’t you? Why not? Why not? Why not? Seems like a good idea. Bit of a no brainer, really. Why wouldn’t you do a bit of broadcasting? You old zombie you. Spread it about a bit. Put it out there. Deface the world with your degraded pointless communication. Have a good old dump on the pavement. It seemed like a good idea at the time officer, I can’t think what came over me…

A word can mean so much, don’t you think? So much and at the same time it can mean so little. So very little. It can mean nothing at all. Less than nothing. Words can become worse than worthless and they regularly do. It happens all the time. Garbage words from the garbage universe. Words are like head-lice, if you ask me. Or crab-lice. Filthy dirty things. A real contagion. Hard to get rid of once you catch them – you can pass them on alright but you can’t get rid of them! Oh no. It doesn’t work like that.

It doesn’t matter how much you scratch – the more you scratch the more you spread it about. The more degraded and corrupted the language the harder it is to free yourself from it. The more degraded and corrupted the words are the more they possess you. Swarming all over you like so many pestilential blood-sucking head-lice. Jumping all over you like so many supercharged crazy-ass fleas…
